Program: “Earth’s Place in the Universe”

A presentation by Jordan Williams. Jordan has been a mechanical engineer for over 20 yrs and has been at Bechtel in Richland in the vitrification project for over 5 yrs. He has had a long time interest in SETI and will discuss what private money is doing with the research. He will also give a brief 10 minutes of what is happening with the nuclear waste and Yucca Mts in Nevada. This is Jordan’s second presentation at the ESCP.

The talk is sponsored by the ETHICAL CULTURE SOCIETY OF PUGET SOUND and is free. Contributions are graciously accepted to pay for the hall. Please confirm your presence and bring your questions and your curious minds. Lunch will follow after the talk for those who want to join us at a very affordable Indian restaurant ( nearby ).

A presentation by Bryan Bell, President, and Karin Weekly, Secretary of the Eastside Chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church & State. http://eastside.auwa.org/

Motivated by the court case in Dover, PA over teaching Intelligent Design in science classrooms, they joined Americans United in October, 2005. One year later, they helped form the Eastside Chapter, one of the first Americans United chapters in Washington State. Karin works as a database designer for Microsoft. Bryan has worked as a software project manager at Microsoft and Sony, but now works full-time as a volunteer for Americans United. Prior to their software careers, Karin and Bryan ran a successful piano school in Sacramento, CA
