Cafe Meeting May 4th, 2008

We have our first Sunday of May meeting at Elliot Bay Cafe, down the stairs at 101 Main Street in Pioneer Square, Seattle. Bill will lead a discussion about responsibility and moral progress as products of nature.

Cafe doors open at 10 a.m. Program begins at 10:30. Elliot Bay Books address is located on the southeast of the corner of Main St and 1st Avenue in the Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle. Many buses run near and I understand that one can easily find really cheap parking on Sunday mornings.

We will meet at the Elliot Bay Cafe on April 20. Topic: What are “tools of truth finding”? Do reliable tools exist? Member Bill Carr reads some of Daniel Dennett’s “More Questions About Science” from Breaking the Spell, Religion as a Natural Phenomenon.

There are stairs leading down from Main St. to the Cafe entrance.

We will meet at the Elliot Bay Cafe on January 6. The most recent Dialogue has two related front cover articles — “Be Nice, but …”, and “Some Thoughts on Truth and Manners”. We will lead off our discussion by reading from “Be Nice, but …”

2007 draws to an end. We may look back and forward, discuss one of the excellent articles in the recent Dialogue, or talk about any of our current concerns.
